“Our Festival embodies the spirit of a people who enjoy
the arts because they know that they have access to them,
because they understand that to benefit from cultural expressions
like the theater is not a privilege of the few, but the right of all."

Rabindranath Quinteros,
Mayor of Puerto Montt

From the 14th of June to the 31st of July 2004, the XV International Theater Season will take place in Puerto Montt, Chile.

This important non-competitive Festival is one of the oficial events sponsored by the Chilean Government to celebrate the 100 years of the birth of poet laureate Pablo Neruda

This event is considered one of the most important gathering of scenic arts in Latin America and the only one which is free for all.

It will run for 45 days, comprising 90 shows and 48 theater companies from about 22 countries. There will be around 1000 actors, dramaturges, set designers and technicians who will offer their art on the stage of the Diego Rivera Theater in Puerto Montt, as well as touring to other regions of the country.
